How "Dear Fairies" Started

Dear Fairies came into being after I, Carole Hallett Mobbs, discovered a long and very in-depth letter from my daughter addressed to The Fairies.

I only found it by accident, just before midnight, together with some tiny dresses and a miniature cushion she had made "for the Fairy Queen".

The carefully written letter contained numerous unusual questions and requests, which had they been ignored, would have upset my girl and perhaps a little childhood magic would have been lost.

Fuelled by late-night adrenaline, the unbearable knowledge that my darling girl was due to have an operation soon and a slightly desperate need to keep some magic alive, I crafted a long and rather involved letter in reply. I printed it on special paper, added a few pictures and patterns, popped it into a pretty envelope and left it in place of her letter ready for her to find in the morning.
Her delighted face when she found the letter made the late night well worthwhile.

After showing the text to my friends, I received many gratifying compliments and one in particular stood out - "you should start a business doing this...".

So I did!

I hope my service helps keep the magic alive for your children too. Please come and visit my Fairy blog at http://blog.dearfairies.com to see how it all works behind the scenes.

PS: My daughter's operation was a success, but it took two operations to get to the final all clear.
And she still believes in Fairies!
